Thursday, May 15, 2014 - 18:00
The workshop’s main goal will be to make a proposal to build a 21st century educational system for Cabo Verde. Challenges as well as the exploitation of potential opportunities will be addressed, in order to propose an agenda for the future and a reform package, to ensure an education system capable of adequately meeting the needs of quality and relevance. More specifically, the workshop will examine and provide answers to the following questions:

Which is the vision for the future of the educational and vocational training systems?
What needs to change, what specific critical areas should be targeted for reform, and what should be the aim and focus in each area?
How can the reform agenda, with a focus on quality and relevance, be generalized at all levels of the educational system, from pre-school, to secondary, vocational and university level?
How can the national accreditation and quality control system be urgently set up and adjusted for each level within the educational system?
What should be the main priorities in the short and medium term to ensure rapid gains and address critical constraints?
How do we develop a culture of lifelong learning?
How do we promote a national culture of learning?
How can stakeholders and population in general be mobilized to conduct reforms?
