WS 3.4 Strategic Partnerships and Economic Diplomacy for Transformation

The workshop will examine and give political answers to the following questions: What are the country’s needs in terms of strategic partnerships? How do we consolidate and take better advantage of existing strategic partnerships? What new partnerships should be promoted and implemented? How do we improve access to and benefit from the ECOWAS market? What is the best model for managing partnerships? How do we create internal capacity for this management?How do we turn diplomacy into an economic tool for the transformation agenda? 

WS 1.4 Strengthening the Global Nation

The session will undertake an analysis of the Cabo Verdean society and address the issue of building an inclusive nation and including the Diaspora in national efforts to transform Cabo Verde.

WS 3.5 Employment Creation and Transformation

This workshop will address the following questions:
What are the challenges for the private sector to creating more employment, especially for young people?
What are the challenges for employment Cabo Verdeans in the exterior?
What behavioral changes are necessary in the work culture of Cabo Verdeans?
What are the factors that currently keep us from generating more employment?
How can we better manage incentive systems for the domestic and international investor, in order to create more employment? 

WS 4.2 Inclusive Development

This workshop will also be an opportunity for the country to re-visit its social policy strategy as it builds a national consensus around the post 2015 sustainable development goals.

WS 1.3 Business Development and Private Sector Competitiveness

The workshop will examine the efforts to develop the private sector and promote entrepreneurial spirit in Cape Verde. It will focus on the challenges and opportunities to facilitate the growth of innovative entrepreneurs, exports and private sector development in Cape Verde. The workshop will explore the potential to transform the private sector in Cape Verde, and it will make suggestions on what is working and analyze lessons from other experiences that can be adapted to Cape Verde’s situation.
