WS 2.4 The Finance Cluster

The workshop session will look at these two issues: developing the fiancé cluster as a support to other clusters and building Cape Verde into an international financial services center.  Crucially, the workshop will take stock along these broad lines and also propose ideas going forward. Specifically, the workshop will therefore focus on the following questions:
 
What is the status, what are the challenges and opportunities?

WS 2.3 The Tourism Cluster

The workshop will be strategic in nature and will be focused on policy formulation. It will explore Cabo Verde’s potential to develop the tourism cluster. It will discuss, in particular, what needs to be done so that Cabo Verde can create a high value added tourism cluster.

Specifically, the workshop will provide answers to the following questions:
What are the prospects for tourism as the main lever of the Cabo Verdean economy in the coming years?

WS 2.1 Rural Development and Agribusiness

The session will begin to examine this critical issue by exploring the following questions: What is the status and the current challenges and opportunities in the agribusiness cluster? What should be the priorities for developing this cluster? How to organize the cluster in order to strengthen the role of the private sector? What should be the role of the state? How to best develop the linkages to the academic world? How do we facilitate linkage between producers and the supply chain of the tourism sector? 

Strategic Partnerships and Economic Diplomacy for Transformation

The workshop will examine and give political answers to the following questions: What are the country’s needs in terms of strategic partnerships? How do we consolidate and take better advantage of existing strategic partnerships? What new partnerships should be promoted and implemented? How do we improve access to and benefit from the ECOWAS market? What is the best model for managing partnerships? How do we create internal capacity for this management?How do we turn diplomacy into an economic tool for the transformation agenda?
